Bor's Christmas Academy

Slika
Girls from AGG National team were invited as special guest to perform on the 23rd of December at Christmas show of ŠZ Bor called Borova božična akademija or Bor's Christmas Academy in Trieste, Italy. It's a special event because all their gymnasts show their routines (they will compete with in 2019) for the first time in public. We were honoured and excited to be there. Thank you for the invitation! We started our journey at 6:00 in the morning at Railway Station in Ljubljana from where we took two-hour long train to Trieste. We were mostly trying to fall asleep in that time, so there's not much to talk about :D After we arrived to Trieste, we went to the city centre and had a small tour around the streets. Then we were basically trying to waste our time, because the show started at 16:00 and we still had plenty of time.  After great Italian lunch, we took a bus to the gym called Stadion Prvi maj . We were warmly welcomed at our arrival and immediately started to pr

New Year's Performance 2018

Since holidays are here, we have a lot of time to write posts about previous events in December. This one is the last one from year 2017. We'd like to thank everyone and wish you again all peaceful holidays.  Last week in Monday we had a traditional New Year's performance in our gym for our parents and friends. All Voranc teams performed and there were 11 great performances. We're satisfied with them, but we have to work a lot after holidays, because almost nothing hasn't been polished yet.  First our younger teams performed and in the end, our seniors showed their Albatraoz free routine, new pair and triple routine and our AGG National team performed their routine for the first time.  We enjoyed performing in this great atmosphere, although this is just the beginning. It was a great ''opening'' of the season and we can't wait to start competing in 2019.

AGG Team Q&A !

We haven't done this yet, so please don't judge this poor answers 😌 We asked our dear followers on Instagram profile to send us questions and we have already answered one part there, but we will write them all together on this blog. Note: We translated Slovenian questions to English. Let's get started! How many times per week do you train and how many hours? Four times a week we have training in the afternoon and sometimes in the morning. Our trainings are 3 hours long. What is the highest score you've ever got? We haven't competed together in this composition yet, but we used to compete against each other in previous season. We were part of three different teams and they all placed very well at AGG National Championships.   How old are you? We are 16 and 17 years old, but all born in 2001. What part of practice is your favourite? (Strength, flexibility,...) Flexibility. How did you decide to go to the World Championships?   This was alr

New season and what are we up to

Slika
October. It's October! How could we not remember to post a new blog post before? Oh, let me explain it to you. There was no time. It was simply no time. But here we are, updating this wonderful page full of information. I can already apologize in the beginning for this post being too long , but I can't help myself when I start writing.  First question, What are we up to? Yes, I totally understand people who are so curious about what's happening. Frankly, nothing is so unusual. Just the fact that only a few hundred people in Slovenia know that there is a sport called aesthetic gymnastics. The thing that is sad is that some people have already seen it, but they thought it was dancing or acrobatic gymnastics. Thank you so much! Because this is quite offensive. In our case, we are dealing with this problem precisely when we try to expand AGG among people. Why? Slovenia is not a member of the International Federation of Aesthetic Group Gymnastics, and the In

Last performance of the season

So, we got to the end of this season! It was wonderful, full of emotions, ups and downs, new experiences and knowledge. We had a great time, we managed to achieve the set goals and meet our expectations. We learned a lot of new elements, and also that it's worth keeping up to the end. You must never give up. We said goodbye to the 2018 season on Friday, June 15th in our home gym. We had the last performance of the year for our parents and friends. Seniors performed with free routine Albatraoz , pair Saura with balls and a speacial gala show - hoop routine from 2013!  We're so proud of our free routine, which was truly another level from the last one. We gave our best and proved that hard work always pays off! We placed third out of 12 teams on National Championships with only 0,1 behind second place. Even better, we reached our goal with scoring over 10,000. Our execution was second best, much higher from the others and even our technical value increased for over a p

On Thursday, June 7, our girls Sara, Laura and Maja, together with the coaches of our club, went to the XIX. World Championship of Aesthetic Group Gymnastics, which was held in Budapest last weekend. The road to there was long, but we returned home full of new experiences and knowledge.  We enjoyed watching the competition in a wonderful atmosphere. We came there as supporters of the Finnish team Minetit, so we are proud of them, winning two silver medals in both Junior and Senior category. In addition to this, we also met many other teams on the trip. Thank you everyone for a friendly response, it was nice to meet you! And congratulations to everyone! Nationals A1 program 2018

Slika
So, here we are. Our last match is over. On Sunday, May 20th, we took part at the 2018 National Championships of A1 program and successfully finished our season. After, unfortunately, the unsuccessful competition last weekend, we had a lot of motivation for the upcoming. This may helped us. This was our first competition outside the Ljubljana area, but it was not the first time that we traveled together. At 8 am we drove out of Ljubljana and after about an hour and a half, thanks to our driver Nina and coach Hana, arrived in Maribor.  The competition program was slightly different than usual. We were very pleased that the competition for our group already began in the morning. First, there was a competition of pairs/triples in which our seniors Sara and Laura took part. They competed as number 3. The exercise was well performed, with a small mistake that Laura quickly and effortlessly repaired. Luckily, it didn't cost them a medal. In the strong competition, they were ran

Nationals 2018

Last Saturday, the 2018 National Championships of C program was held. Since we finished second and fourth at Regional Championships, we qualified to Finals with both routines. This was a big day for us, because Nationals are always announcing the end of the season. We were barely waiting for that day, but we obviously had too many expectations. Our goal was above all to carry out exercises, as we know best, but this did not work out completely. Unfortunately, the judicial system was a little more sharpened that day, which made us even more sad. Because the season is ending and our ball routine is already 3 years old, we wanted to perform a good routine. Unfortunately, luck was not on our side. There were silly mistakes in the exercise; which were too many of them to reach the expected medal. Because of our second place last month, we expected a better ranking, because the previous exercise also wasn't the best in execution - we had three drops. Unfortunately, it happe

Second Championship Competition

Slika
Last Saturday, April 21st, we competed at the Second Championship Competition of Group compostitions. The competiton for A program was held early in the morning, so the A1 program was sooner than usual. It pleased us, because our member had the prom date on the same day.  As we have already said in previous posts, last month we were facing injuries and illnesses, so we wern't in the best possible way and almost gave up participation in the competitions. We are happy that we didn't, because in spite of the difficulties we managed to achieve a lot. We were very pleased that our competition part began with a category of exercises with apparatus, that we got rid of the stress of the apparatus as soon as possible. The routine was surprisingly good. Nevertheless, we made some minor mistakes, which were completely unnecessary, but in the end we did not expect such a good ranking. With a score of 4,650 (2,700+1,650+0,300), we were placed on excellent 8th place, which is

AGG World Cup Graz 2018

Slika
Our seniors Nina and Maja took part in Aesthetic Group Gymnastics World Cup II as volunteers for a second year in a row. Last year, Padua was great, but this time it was even better. The second stage of World Cup took part in Graz, Austria from the 13th to 15th of April. Volunteering must be our favourite hobby, since we are doing it every month :P It was a great honor to be part of such a big event and as always, we enjoyed every single part of it. We can no longer count how many events we have already attended as volunteers, although not always in large numbers. Congratulations, of course, to the organizers, that they took us in so nicely and offered us a place of volunteers.    Pictures with our favourites! Thank you so much Olivia Yli-Juuti, Minetit Junior and of course, one and only, Minetit Senior! 💕 With Antton Laine (FIN), the best AGG choreographer :) Thank you for such a lovely experience, pictures say everything... Hope to see you soon!
