European Championships 2017 (Part 2)

Day 3

The start of the day was a little different. The phone wasn't buzzing at 5:30 in the morning, as it should, because we forgot to set an alarm clock (actually it was set for pm, instead of am xD). We woke up at around 8 o'clock and quickly got ready for departure. Shortly after we arrived to Training Center we apologized for delay and started to work.

It was the first competition day, including qualifications for hoop&ball in individual and 10 clubs in group competition. To be honest, we were really nervous, because we weren't able to watch the competition in the Arena, because we had work in the Center. They needed help in the VIP entrance of the Arena, so Nina went there for an hour, while Zala and Maja were in the Center.

We were planning on watching and cheering for Slovenia at around 12 am, so we helped Nina to get out of her place and literally sneaked out of our work. The Arena was amazing and we had a free entrance to every place there.

After lunch we got back to work in Training Center. Because it was the competition day next day, all teams weren't practicing a lot, so we finished earlier. We met some amazing people, very famous coaches and ex-gymnasts from Olympics, also had a chance to talk to them.

In the evening, Training Center was empty, actually all the carpets were empty, only a few people was there in front of the TV, so we took a chance and enjoy the moments. We tasted the softness of the carpet on our feet and tried some stunts. It was really amazing having a chance to stand and jump on the real competition carpet from European Championships.

Day 4This day was probably the best day of all. Right in the morning we were told that we are working in the competition arena today, because everyone have one day of work there and to be honest, this was the thing we were dying for haha. This was our last day here, because we were leaving on Sunday morning. The competition started at 9 o'clock so it was busy all the time.

Backstage in Arena
The arena was huge. There was a lot of space for training, even more than in the training hall. There were 6 carpets backstage and one for the competition. The audience was pretty loud and we had televisions with streams all around the carpets, so we were able to see the competition from there. We were working at training carpets and it was again amazing.

After Slovenia performed we took a trip around the hall, because we could go anywhere. We were watching the performances of the best gymnasts and also met the best gymnasts and do I have to say that it was the best? xD

Just a few pictures here, because there was a lot of meetings. Right after Awarding ceremony we had a chance to meet all of the rg stars. On the first picture is Zala with Averina twins (Dina and Arina) who lately became European Champions in finals too. On the second picture is Maja with the 2008 Olympic Group champion from Russia, Tatiana Gorbunova who's such a lovely person and we were so glad to meet her. On the third picture is Maja with Bulgarian star Neviana Vladinova (she's so beautiful omg) who lately became Ribbon bronze medalist. And on the fourth picture is Zala with the 2017 European champions, Russian junior group. They were so lovely for taking a time, because they have already changed into shirts and shorts but they changed back to leotards when we wanted to take a picture with them.

Of course we had a chance to chat with our lovely Slovenian people. Our federation competed successfully and we were happy to cheer for them. Congratulations girls!

This championship was surely the best experience and we are looking forward to new ones. We are already planning to visit Bulgaria next year, because there are two World Championships there, but we'll see. <3 br="">
