Regionals 2017

Unlike previous posts, who talked only about preparations and trainings, today we will speak about the first competition of the season. Finally, a long-awaited racing weekend came here, which was made up of two different competitions.

On Saturday, 8th April was held the Regional Championship 2017 in C Program, organized by our club. We were nervous because of the new agg routine and how our execution in rg will end this year.




We arrived at 11:00 to the gym, because we had to prepare for our first performance. The competition for our categories started at 14:30, so we had plenty of time to do our make-up and hairstyles. In the morning programme for girls and pre-juniors we had two performances. First pair Saura performed their new ball routine for A1 program and then seniors performed their Golden Boy free routine for A1 program. We enjoyed it very much and it was a great control training for the Sunday's competition.

After some of the girls helped at the Medal ceremony for younger categories at 13:30 (by the way, Voranc girls were 2nd with balls), we had a general training on the carpet at 2 pm. We didn't practice a lot, because we figured out that this suits us better, after we had a problems with nervousness and fears last year. 

In junior category of rhythmic gymnastics with apparatus Voranc had two groups on the start list. Voranc 1 with ball routine competed as a number 5 and Voranc 2 as a number 7. Ball routine was great, girls did an awesome job, but with three small drops, which cost them a gold medal. They placed 2nd with the score of 12,270. Voranc 2 had two drops out of the carpet and lower execution led them to 8th place out of 10 groups.

We had an hour to prepare for our second routine. At 16:00 was the competition in aesthetic gymnastics of Senior category. There was only 5 groups competing in this category and Voranc team started as a number 3. Their routine was on fire, girls really enjoyed it and the audience was fascinated. Artistic value and execution was good, but the technical value wasn't good enough for bronze medal. They finished on 4th place with the score of 13,550.




It was a wonderful day full of emotions and we're really happy with the progress from last year. Our routines are getting stronger and better, but we also need a little luck with the results. Next competition of C program is in May (National Championship). Our girls qualified there with Junior rg ball routine and with Senior agg routine. We're looking forward to it, but we still need a lot of practice, to polish our routines to the next level.

31st International Tournament Ljubljana

This weekend Slovenian club for rhythmic gymnastics KRG Narodni dom held the traditional International Tournament ''MTM'' in Ljubljana's Gymnastics center. This year was already the 31st edition of it. Our girls have been attended it for the fourth consecutive year now and it was amazing, as always. Sara and Maja with Polina Shmatko, Lala Kramarenko and Sofia Nikeeva from Russia Since the amazing edition in 2016, when all biggest stars came to compete, we've all been expecting even more amazing gymnasts from all around the world. This year, one of the top gymnasts came to Ljubljana, such as Julia Evchik (Belarus), Alexandra Agiurgiuculese (Italy), Nicol Zelikman (Israel) and Polina Shmatko (Russia) - medalists from the 2016 Junior European Championships in Holon, Natela Bolataeva (Georgia) , Anna Sokolova (Russia), Lala Kramarenko (Russia) and others. Among them, of course, were also excellent Slovenian hopes - Aleksandra Podgoršek, Aja Jerman Buka...

Preparations

Voranc Senior group with Kersnik Junior and Senior group Last weekend, 29.-31.1. were held peraparations for our and another club's team. We spend most of the time in out usual gym and prepare our routines for the new season. It was a lot of fun, we learned many new things and correct some elements in routines, so now we're almost fully prepared for the upcoming competition season. It starts in March, so this mean we have another month till we step on the competition carpet and show the new routines to the audience.  First day was a little harder than we thought it would be. We started at 4 pm and ended at 6 pm, which means only two hours of training, but it was just a beginning. We get through routines with our main coaches and work on details, change some elements. The last 30 minutes we were practicing elements and risks with balls. Then we did some work on our muscles and our usual strenght test - doing squats on  Mobby - Flower .  Voranc and Kersnik team...

AGG World Cup Graz 2018

Our seniors Nina and Maja took part in Aesthetic Group Gymnastics World Cup II as volunteers for a second year in a row. Last year, Padua was great, but this time it was even better. The second stage of World Cup took part in Graz, Austria from the 13th to 15th of April. Volunteering must be our favourite hobby, since we are doing it every month :P It was a great honor to be part of such a big event and as always, we enjoyed every single part of it. We can no longer count how many events we have already attended as volunteers, although not always in large numbers. Congratulations, of course, to the organizers, that they took us in so nicely and offered us a place of volunteers.    Pictures with our favourites!
